What is an Amazon bulk flat file?
An Amazon bulk file is a spreadsheet (CSV or XLSX) you upload to the Bulk Operations tab of the Amazon Advertising console to create or modify many campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and bids at once. Each row is one entity (campaign, ad group, product ad or keyword) tied together by Campaign ID and Ad Group ID columns.
Why use a single ASIN campaign structure?
Putting one ASIN per campaign gives you precise control over budget, bids, and negative keywords for that specific product. You can pause a single ASIN without affecting others, scale budget on winners, and pull cleaner performance reports. It's the structure most experienced Amazon PPC managers default to for new launches.
How to upload the flat file to Amazon Advertising
- Sign in to Amazon Advertising console and select your account.
- Open Bulk Operations from the left sidebar.
- Scroll to Upload your files and choose the .xlsx generated above.
- Click Upload. Amazon validates the file and reports any errors.
- If validation passes, the campaign is created within a few minutes.
